King County Mugshot Record Basics
A booking photo records appearance at the time of booking. It does not show the later outcome. The person may have posted bond, obtained dismissal, served a sentence, entered probation, transferred to TDCJ, or moved into another agency's custody. A photo alone proves none of those events. Match it to the booking number, arresting agency, booking date, charges, and court case before relying on identity.
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 defines public information broadly enough to include photographs and electronic information. Access remains subject to exceptions, confidentiality laws, court orders, juvenile rules, privacy redaction, expunction, and the state of an investigation. A booking photo is requestable, but not automatically releasable in every case. Ask for the photo as a separate item so the custodian can answer it apart from narrative reports.
King County Mugshot Discovery Channels
The local sweep found no complete gallery. That negative result narrows the search to records held by the correct agency. Because King has no listed jail capacity, first resolve the actual booking and housing site. Garza is a documented proposed or possible housing destination, not a permanent King jail that can be assumed in every case.
| Channel | Photo status | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| King Sheriff roster or release feed | None found | Request an existing arrest or booking photo if King created or retains it. |
| Garza jail roster or release feed | None found | If Garza booked the person, file its open-records form. |
| Sheriff mobile app | None found for King or Garza | Do not assume an app or photo archive exists. |
| Garza Sheriff Facebook | Possible isolated image | Treat an agency post as a lead, not a complete archive or release record. |
| TDCJ email information | No photograph through that service | Use TDCJ for prison status and ask the proper custodian about any distinct image record. |
| VINELink | Interface varies | Use it for custody events and alerts; do not promise a photo. |
| BOP locator | No booking mugshot promised | Use it for federal custody or release status, not photo discovery. |
| News or commercial publication | Sometimes | Use only as a stale lead; verify Texas, Guthrie, agency, identity, and date. |
King County Has No Gallery
The official King County Sheriff page contains office contact information, but the research sweep found no current roster, recent-release list, booking-photo gallery, or sheriff jail app. The Garza jail page has jail contacts, an open-records route, VINELink, and a sheriff Facebook link. It has no rolling roster or gallery. The King County 24-hour release page therefore uses direct confirmation and records requests rather than inventing a photo feed.
A Facebook photo is not a jail database. It may concern an arrest or agency announcement and may not show the final case outcome. No posting pattern proves that every King or Garza booking appears there. Likewise, a missing photo does not prove release, deletion, or expunction.
View the official Garza Sheriff and jail page for the documented local contacts.
The page supports direct jail contact and the social link, while leaving photo and release facts to the underlying record.
Request King County Booking Photos
Send the request to the body that maintains the image. Begin with the King County Sheriff if the actual custodian is unknown. Ask where the person was booked and whether King created or retained an arrest photo. If Garza confirms the booking, use Garza's purpose-neutral open-records form. An agency must provide existing responsive records subject to law; it need not create a photo or research an answer.
- Identify the person with full name and date of birth. Add the arrest date, incident, booking number, or case number when known.
- Ask King Sheriff to identify the actual booking and housing agency.
- Request the booking photograph as a distinct record, along with the booking number and date needed to confirm identity.
- If Garza held the person, submit the Garza open-records form.
- Ask for an electronic copy and advance notice of charges.
- If material is withheld, ask what exception or confidentiality rule applies and request any releasable booking fields separately.
- Check the King court case for the disposition that came after the photograph.
Garza's form states its own terms: $1 per page, added charges above 50 pages, an estimate above $40, and pickup within 15 calendar days after completion notice. It also refers to ten business days to process or seek an attorney-general opinion. Those are form terms, not a promise that every photo arrives within ten business days.
Note: Ask for the photo separately so other withheld material does not obscure whether that image can be released.
King County Photo Verification Limits
Commercial publishers and news reports can carry an old photo, but no credible current King, Texas released-photo archive was found. Search results for “King County” often concern Washington rather than Texas. Never resolve that ambiguity from a face or name alone. Check Guthrie or another Texas place, the originating agency, booking date, case number, and court outcome.
No commercial mugshot publisher is linked here. A commercial copy can be stale, mislabeled, cropped away from its identifiers, or left online after the government record changes. Local reporting has its own editorial and archival treatment. Use either category only to discover the claimed source, then obtain the photo and disposition from official offices.
A TDCJ identification image would be a different record from a county booking photo. TDCJ expressly says its routine public email-information service does not supply photographs. The BOP locator is also a custody and release-status tool, not a promised mugshot source. VINELink's interface varies and should not be advertised as a photo archive.
Correct King County Mugshot Errors
Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 109 creates a correction process for covered businesses that publish criminal-record information, including photographs. A person can use the publisher's conspicuous dispute contact, identify incomplete or inaccurate material, and attach an authoritative disposition. A covered publisher must verify without a fee, investigate within the statute's period, correct or remove incomplete or inaccurate information promptly, stop the erroneous publication, and provide notice after the investigation.
This is not a universal erase-on-demand law. Coverage definitions and exemptions matter. General-circulation news publications, broadcasters, and certain service providers can fall outside it. The law does not promise deletion of an accurate government photo. It also does not authorize a private removal service to change the originating record.
Read the official Chapter 109 correction provisions before sending a dispute.
The statute supplies a limited correction channel, so the publisher's coverage and the precise error must be established first.
King County Photo Access Orders
Expunction and nondisclosure are different. Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A provides expunction procedures for qualifying records. Government Code Chapter 411 contains nondisclosure rules that restrict public access in qualifying cases without necessarily erasing every record. Eligibility depends on the charge, result, waiting period, history, and signed order.
Neither process should be described as automatic mugshot deletion. Send the applicable order to the originating agency and address any separate publisher through its own process. A record may also be withheld or redacted because of an active investigation, juvenile confidentiality, privacy, or another exception. The correct statement is that public access may be restricted.
For a wrong photo, same-name mismatch, or stale disposition, preserve screenshots and source details. Obtain the official booking or court record that shows the error. Then ask the government custodian to correct its own data and contact any publisher separately. An old image is never a current-custody check.
Open Records Decision 616 supports release of a conviction-related mugshot in the circumstances addressed there, outside an active investigation. Later case-specific rulings and the law-enforcement exception show why the result is not categorical. Ask the agency to apply the current facts and law. A requester can seek basic arrest information even when other investigative material is withheld, but should not promise that the image must be produced.
King's split custody path also affects correction. King may own the arrest record while the outside jail owns the booking image. A court may own the later dismissal or judgment. If the wrong disposition appears beside a correct Garza image, send the court document to the publisher while asking Garza only about its own record. Each custodian can correct the part it controls.
A photo needs context even when accurate. Booking date, agency, charge, and case outcome keep an old arrest image from being mistaken for a current event. Release date should come from the release transaction, not from the time a photo disappeared online. If no gallery exists, no retention period can be inferred.
The sound King County photo record pairs the image with its source, booking identifiers, and later disposition. That context protects against a same-name error and prevents an arrest image from being mistaken for current custody or a completed release record.
